Abhishek Banerjee exposes industry trends

Paatal Lok star Abhishek Banerjee spoke his heart out about pay disparity in the industry and his revelations will leave you shocked. Abhishek expressed his opinions about the demands of big-name actors in various shows and films. He revealed that supporting actors sometimes earn less money than a celebrity’s bodyguard. Yes, you read that right! In an interview with Hindustan Times, Abhishek was asked about the rising budgets and costs. He said that it is completely a star thing, and one cannot blame actors for it. He even said that the producers have to decide. Abhishek continued by saying that he has been casting for movies and shows for many years now and comes across unnecessary demands that are made by certain stars. He even said that due to these demands, actors get less money.

Abhishek said that makers tell him to cast good actors for less money. Banerjee said that sometimes, good actors get peanuts for a show or a film. He said that star value, of course, gets people to the theatres and buy tickets, but at the same time, an actor adds the same value to a story. Abhishek recalled his experience as a casting director and spoke about the troubling industry practices. He said that most of the film’s budget goes to the star, then the entourage fees and said by the time it comes to others, the makers start cost-cutting. He said that due to this the makers either get good talent to work for lesser pay which leads to demotivation right from the start or replace them with less experienced people who will not do that job well. He says that then film flops and makers will exclaim shock as if they did not see it coming. On the work front, Abhishek has been part of Stree, Bhediya, Dream Girl, Dream Girl 2, Pataal Lok, and Mirzapur. He has become a household name now. He has Stree 2 and Vedaa in his kitty.
