Rajkummar recalled the entire incident and said, “It was a typical office, and the man there had photos with everyone from Gulshan Grover to Raza Murad. I thought he knew everyone. He said the photoshoot would cost me Rs 10,000. My mother borrowed the money, and somehow we paid him the amount. Then I received a call saying I had been selected for the role. I was on my knees, thinking I had made it in life and was all set. Since I was a fan of Shah Rukh Khan and followed his footsteps from television to cinema, I thought my life was also set. But when I went back after three days, the whole office disappeared. The office was locked. I asked people around, and they told me those guys had run away.” When Shah Rukh Khan advised Raj to buy home beyond his limits. Raj purchased 40 crore hosue in Juhu and recalling what SRK had told him,”Shah Rukh sir had taught me one thing ‘Beta kabhi bhi ghar lega na, toh aukaat se thoda zyaada lena. Kyunki phir na, upar wala bhi dekhta hai aur tu khud bhi zyada mehnat karega (Son, whenever you buy a house, buy one a little beyond your means. That way, you’ll work harder because you’d want to earn it).’ I found this very fascinating.” Indeed Rajkummar’s journey is every bit inspiring.
