Kalki 2898 AD: Director Nag Ashwin reveals all about Prabhas

Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan is ruling the headlines today. The movie has released in the theatres and all that fans can talk about is this magnum-opus. The movie is directed by Nag Ashwin and he is being hailed for creating the massive Kalki universe with mind-blowing visuals. Before the release of the movie, Nag Ashwin carried out a candid chat with people on social media. He teased fans about Prabhas’ entry scene.

During the live chat, Nag Ashwin spoke all about Prabhas’ character Bhairavaa in Kalki 2898 AD. The director revealed that Prabhas’ makes an entry into the film only at the 20th minute and he asked fans to stay prepared for it. He shared that his entry will make everyone scream. He was quoted saying, “Once that entry scene comes, it is the best entry that I would love. I will scream and I am not even the scream in the theatre kind of fellow, but I will shout when I see that entry.”

Talking about the story of Kalki 2898 AD, Prabhas essays the role of Bhairavaa. He is a bounty hunter in the film. His companion is Bujji, an AI Bot. Kamal Haasan plays the role of Yaskin. He is the ruler of Complex where there is ample supply of oxygen. Deepika Padukone plays the role of Sumati. Amitabh Bachchan is Ashwathama. Kalki 2898 AD has its roots in Indian mythology and the names of the characters are inspired from Hindu epic Mahabharata. At an event, Nag Ashwin had shared about the story of Kalki 2898 AD. He said that the movie begins in Mahabharata and ends 2898 when there is Kalki yug. He shared that movie spans over 6000 years, further adding, “trying to create worlds that are there here, imagining what it could be like, still keeping it Indian and not making it look like a Blade Runner.”
