Kalki 2898 AD: Amitabh Bachchan extends apology to Prabhas' fans; here's why

The mighty Amitabh Bachchan is playing the role of Ashwatthama in the film. Kamal Haasan also has a pivotal role to play. When Amitabh Bachchan sat down with Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and producers to discuss the film, he revealed his first reaction to his character. He stated that when Nag Ashwin approached him with Kalki 2898 AD, he simply brought a picture of what Big B’s character would look like. He was also shown how Prabhas would look like. He further added, “And I was this huge guy who was shoving off ‘The Prabhas.’ All the fans of Prabhas, please excuse me. Mai haath jod ke maafi maang rahe hain (I apologise with my folded hands). Don’t massacre me after you see what I do in the film.” This left Prabhas and all others laughing hard. Prabhas went on to add that all his fans are Amitabh Bachchan fans too.

Adding to Amitabh Bachchan’s praises for Nag Ashwin, Kamal Haasan revealed how he came onboard. He shared that he asked the makers how would they create whatever they have put on storyboard. Then he was shown Amitabh Bachchan’s footage and Kamal Haasan was totally sold onto the idea.

Kalki 2898 AD is going to release on June 27, 2024. Recently an event was held in Mumbai to promote the film. All the stars attended the event and the second trailer was launched. The movie is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 600 crore.
