Heeramandi star Sharmin Segal aka Alamzeb talks about her bond with Aditi Rao Hydari amid massive trolling; reveals how she helped her

It was a period drama and SLB excels in it. He brought the grandeur to OTT. Secondly, Heeramandi received serious backlash on social media. The filmmaker received some criticism for the goof ups in replicating the actual Heeramandi from Lahore, the dialect and more. Out of all the stars, Sharmin Segal became the softest target of trolls. Her acting chops got criticised. She is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s niece and she faced a lot of trolling. Now the actress has broken her silence on the backlash, bond with Heeramandi co-stars and more.

In an interview with Instant Bollywood, Sharmin Segal who played the role of Alamzeb spoke about the bond she shared with Aditi Rao Hydari on sets that fans are not aware of. She spoke about Aditi’s caring nature and stated that she helped her a lot on Heermandi sets. She said that Aditi who played the role of Bibbojaan would check on her, fix her hair whenever on face and would generally be very helpful. Fans are having a drastic reaction to this. Many are stating that it is just damage control being done.

Sharmin Segal was on the receiving end as a video of her went viral in which she sarcastically called Aditi Rao Hydari a ‘school girl’. It did not go down well with fans as Sharmin commented “Aditi is a good school girl; please understand that. When the teacher says you have to submit your homework at this time, Aditi will do exactly that and not one more word than the word count limit. That is Aditi for you. So, according to her, everyone is late, and she is on time.” In the video, neither did Aditi Rao Hydari looked much pleased with her comments. On social media, Sharmin Segal was slammed left, right and centre for being ‘rude’.

Meanwhile, Heeramandi 2 has been announced. Post the big announcement by Netflix, fans took to social media and demanded that Sharmin gets replaced by Aditi as Alamzeb.
